Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What is Decklist?
Decklist is a trading card game (TCG) collection manager and deck builder. You can search cards, build format-validated decks, and manage your collection all in one place. We currently support the Pokemon Trading Card Game, with more games planned for the future.
Do I need an account?
You can browse cards and sets without an account. However, you will need to create a free account to build decks and track your collection.
Is Decklist free?
Decklist's core features are completely free — card search, public deck building, collection tracking, import/export, and real-time pricing. We also offer an optional Premium subscription ($4/month or $36/year) that adds private decks, deck folders, a premium badge, and an ad-free experience. No existing features will ever be put behind a paywall.
Searching Cards
How do I search for cards?
Use the search bar on the Cards page. You can search by card name, or use the advanced filters to narrow down results by various card attributes.
What search filters are available?
You can filter by type, supertype (Pokemon, Trainer, Energy), subtype, set, rarity, HP, and more using the filter panel on the Cards page. Filters can be combined for more specific results.
Can I search by attack text or ability?
Yes, the full-text search includes card text, attack names, and ability descriptions. Simply type your search terms and matching cards will appear in the results.
Deck Building
How do I create a deck?
Sign in to your account, navigate to the Decks page, and click "New Deck." Choose a format and start adding cards using the integrated card search in the deck editor.
What formats are supported?
For Pokemon TCG, Decklist supports Standard, Expanded, and Unlimited formats. Each format has its own card pool and rules that are automatically enforced during deck building.
How does format validation work?
Decklist checks your deck against official format rules, including:
- Card legality for the selected format
- Copy limits (maximum 4 copies of any card, except basic Energy)
- Deck size (60 cards for Pokemon TCG)
- Basic Pokemon requirements
- ACE SPEC limits (1 per deck)
- Format-specific ban lists
Can I import a deck list?
Yes, you can import decks in PTCGO/PTCGL format. Navigate to Decks and use the Import option. Cards that cannot be matched will be listed so you can add them manually.
Can I export my deck?
Yes, from the deck page you can export your deck to text format for sharing with others or importing into other tools.
Collection
How do I track my collection?
While browsing cards, click the collection icon to add cards to your collection. You can adjust quantities for each card. View your full collection from the Collection page, and import or export via CSV.
Can I see which cards I need for a deck?
Yes, the deck editor shows which cards you own and which you still need to acquire. Cards you already have in your collection are indicated, making it easy to see what you are missing.
Account
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from your Account Settings page. Alternatively, you can email privacy@decklist.net and we will process your request.
Can I sign in with Google?
Yes, you can create an account using Google sign-in, or link your Google account to an existing Decklist account. When you sign in with Google using the same email address as an existing account, the accounts are automatically linked.
